Orthodox family in the modern world

In the modern world, a rare marriage can be described as an Orthodox family. Some hundred or two hundred years ago, the picture was exactly the opposite. Accordingly, the statistics of divorces were different. What is the peculiarity of such a family? Is it only that all together often go to the temple?

The family is the “bone in the throat” of Satan

In recent years, in developed countries, there has been not only a steady deterioration in the condition of the family institution, but also in general a phenomenon called moral decline. In previous decades, the most base and disgusting stages passed through a purposeful informational introduction into culture, into educational programs, and into public opinion.
And today, not only the Orthodox family, but all others are even more at risk: at the final stage, corruption takes root in the legislative field. In the countries of developed democracy, those phenomena that people used to be ashamed of even saying are not just legal. But, moreover, - the norm.Even the reprimand of perversions and unbridledness is forbidden.
These blows are inflicted on the family, as the main upbringing instrument. This holy concept itself is perverted. The words "love", "family", "parents" are distorted. The words "mom" and "dad" are forbidden. In the “civilized” world, spouses who raise children and retain love and fidelity in marriage until the end of their days in extreme old age are less common.
Many have no idea not only of what an Orthodox family is, but also of what a family is. What was always called cohabitation, or prodigal cohabitation, now mimics a normal marriage, hiding behind the notion of “civil marriage,” although not so long ago it was precisely the marriage union that was registered and registered with state authorities.
Many people plan privacy only as a temporary relationship. For such people, children are often a burden and not a particularly desirable source of problems, which does not give selfishly “living for oneself”. What is happiness, or marital happiness, they do not know. And if they are not able to truly love, then from hearsay they usually do not understand.
The enemy of the human race makes every effort in the struggle for the death of the human soul: against faith in God and against the home church - the Orthodox family.
Looking around the last century or two, we can see a connection between the degree of decline of the family institution in society and the degree of rootedness of imposed atheistic opinions in society.
Meanwhile, what is a target for Satan, acting through people, deserves special attention in this connection and is expected to be particularly valuable and important.

Orthodox family "works for eternity"

Happiness, which everyone seeks, is possible when a person attains a state of mind and a place in the world for which the Creator intended him. And so the Orthodox family is a natural entity in which the attainment of happiness is possible here on earth.
Believers know perfectly well how wisely the Lord in families brings people who are perfectly suited to “grind” the acute angles of a life partner, to cure those mental flaws, which many adults, unfortunately, are far from perfect.
The Orthodox Christian knows that he already lives at the beginning of his eternity and the marriage union of two loving hearts passes into eternity. Love conquers death. And the best school of love is the Orthodox family.
Learned love spouses, if necessary, replace each other what is missing. Marriage of each spouse makes twice as strong. Sharing the chores makes it easier for each other. Common joy - much more exciting. Need and poverty are carried twice as easily. Being "one flesh", they are made and unanimous.
Family life does not remove from God, but on the contrary, binds more to Him. Taking care of children and loved ones especially often leads to a prayer appeal to the Lord.
Not cohabitation, where there is no love in its pure form with responsibility, and marriage is established by God for man as the norm. Both Christian purity and moral integrity of the soul, called chastity, are kept by the spouses inOrthodox familyand after marriage, when children are already growing up. He who does not keep his chastity before marriage and in marriage is doomed to lose the possibility of full happiness in love. Any premarital liberties - a sentence for the desired family happiness.

Neither the joy of love for another, nor the joy of love for children in its entirety will be there where at least one of the future spouses has splashed out with anyone this full cup of joy given by the Creator to everyone exclusively for family happiness.Selfishness and the predominance of the desire for pleasure will not allow the selfish person to reach the ultimate joy in the family. And for preparation and family life itself in an Orthodox family, it is required to lead a conscious spiritual life, when the Lord always remains in the first place for a person.
And the consent of both to the wedding will not change the fate of selfish people. For them, there will simply be a ceremony that will not hold the family ties of such people as they expect. The wedding will be an effective sacrament, if both spouses have the determination to live holy, according to the Gospel, and avoid all the opposite, if the spouses strive to achieve eternal life - salvation, and lead their children to this.
